Mindful steps on wooden floors,
Gentle steps on grassy lawns,
Steady steps on dusty tracks,
Solid steps in market stalls.
The taste of mindfulness is sweet —
But we need some time to really taste it.
It is sweeter than our worldly sweets,
It is wiser than a thousand wise.
Each mindful step is nourishing —
Like tasty morsels of peace and calm.
Bringing light to dreary days,
Bringing life to our weary ways.
But who is this person walking here?
Who is this person of ancient times?
Who is this person projecting on?
Who is the person in these very steps?
