“WE INTER-ARE” means that we are very deeply connected to each other, to our planet and to all things. We cannot just be by ourselves, we can only inter-be / inter-are ... with all people and all things. This is also known as interbeing.

WORDS for your enjoyment, inspiration and reflection
-
Welcome to my website!
The words shared on this website started as a desire I had to share something that may benefit the world. I hope this website will now bring you enjoyment and benefit.
If you have enjoyed the words here, please share with friends and family who may also appreciate these words.
Dedication:
This website is dedicated to seekers of kindness and inner wisdom, to those who appreciate that our world is all connected, to those who want to reflect on the inner and outer world, to seekers of truth who want to go beyond words and discrimination, to those who are interested in the natural world and protecting it, to those who are looking for something a bit different.
Although I am just a lay Buddhist, this site has also been designed as a resource for to Buddhist Dharma teachers and for practitioners of meditation, to people who are interested in mindfulness and transformation, to everyone who believe in the path of love and understanding.
Last but not least this website is dedicated to my family and my friends - thank you for your love, kindness and support. We all inter-are.
May the words that I have shaped and fashioned here… bring you enjoyment and inspiration. May they be useful to you as materials for further reflection. Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you will gain benefit from your visit. 🙏
Dedication to the ‘natural’ world:
This website is also dedicated to all the species and “non-living” elements that are not able to directly voice themselves in English or any other language. May the little that I offer here benefit our Natural World.
Thanks for visiting,
🙏 Luan

About We Inter-Are —
I created these poems for sharing,
I crafted these words for exploring.
I wanted to affirm our good nature,
And share a world most amazing…
Some reflections on interbeing,
On compassion and suffering,
Reflections on various topics,
As well as spontaneous feelings.
To dabble in some awakening,
To discover our discriminations,
To recognise our world of labelling,
Observe our world of impermanence.
It is a chance to reflect on kindness,
On compassion and life’s struggles.
On how we are all deeply connected…
To absolutely everything.
To explore the walls of the mind,
And the barriers of our heart.
How we are not so different after all -
This amazing world of interbeing.
Come explore the nature of words,
And the nature of their meaning.
How the mind runs on endlessly,
Forever swinging , forever moving.
Come and reconnect to nature,
Open our eyes to what is happening.
To hear silent cries of suffering,
From our planet and all beings.
Let us also discover real treasures…
Like our amazing nature of kindness.
Places of love and understanding,
And the joy of mindful breathing.
It is to share with you some gentle steps,
Along flowered paths of awakening.
To take you to dark places of war,
To the place where bombs are falling.
To a land where light is shining,
To many people who are smiling.
To the peace residing within,
To our home of gentle calming.
In these words that are strung together,
Let us go on a fascinating journey.
To a realm that includes all the stars,
To our heart of love and understanding.

❧ MONTHLY POEMS (AUGUST)
Below are four new short poems for AUGUST. I have not had time to set them with my photos as about to go on holiday but will do in the second half of this month. Thanks for visiting. Wishing you a good summer.
-
If you think you can kill something,
If you can destroy weeds and pests -
Within distinct compartments …
Then you have been misled…
And you do not understand…
From the small to the large,
From oceans near to oceans far —
We are all deeply connected
So the chemicals sprayed in fields —
They seep into the soil…
They seep into wildlife…
They will come back to us…
In one way or another.
We are connected you see —
When you kill something there…
You are also killing me.

Is it hot in this room…
Or is it my imagination?
Did the polar ice melt…
In a great puddle of tears?
Is that smoke in the room…
Or is it just our rainforest?
Are those wild animals I see…
Or are they just a mirage?
Is that a fire out there…
Or is it just heat in my room?
Are those dreams of our children…
Swept with our brooms?
Is that someone knocking…
Loudly at the door?
Do I still have time…
Or shall I simply ignore?

-
The sun moves through space —
Shining for billions of years.
The sky contains the clouds —
And the tracks of birds and wind.
The Earth is blessed with life —
A coat of blue and green.
We are of vast connections…
Unlimited and without measure.
When our mindful breath is clearly present,
And these mindful steps are taken in leisure,
Problems scatter like birds and butterflies,
As we return to our awakened nature.
Here is the ground of the inconceivable,
Here is the place without any labels.
Here is bright sunlight and gentle wind,
Here is great love and understanding.

My body creaks like a boat -
How long has it been out at sea?
Journeys reflected in this body,
In scars and wounds of the mind.
My aches and pains are more frequent,
My energy swings up and down.
This is the fragility of my body,
Helping me realize impermanence.
We are not fixed and unchanging…
Not an illusion of some permanence.
With each year our body tells us…
This is illness, decline and aging.
Waking us up from our illusions of youth -
This body of impermanence is very wise...
Listen to our aches and pains it says,
Listen to the creaking of the wise.
