Welcome Home —
I step on this land —
On this solid earth —
As a free person!
This present moment —
Was always mine,
Was always yours,
Was always everybody’s.
When we arrive in this moment —
All places are home,
For both you and I —
And for everyone.
You may want to disagree —
And say this is your land!
But I would have to say —
Here is for everybody.
What good is this place called home —
If you have not yet arrived home?
If you have not seen it for what it is —
A place of non-discrimination.
Sure, people may discriminate —
Call you nasty names,
Call you an immigrant,
Call you by a colour,
Call you by a race,
Say you are a nobody.
But you know it’s not true —
The planet never made such marks on you.
It was only the distorted dreams —
Of a bunch of fools,
Trapped in the past,
In their identity.
They live on this land —
But do not know —
That it has long belonged —
To all people and all species.
So take these solid steps —
And make this place your home —
The present home for the many.
This Earth has always been our home —
And we have always belonged —
To each and everybody.
