Ocean Waves —
All the changes happening in my life —
Reveals the world of impermanence.
Everything is on a path of change —
Like changes to our environment.
All is a totality of conditions —
Forming for a while and then transforming.
Don’t hold to it like it will last —
Forever is just — an age-old illusion.
Things appear when there are sufficient conditions —
Then they fade and reappear.
Like waves that rise in the ocean —
Like waves that crash on the shore.
Like storm clouds blocking the bright sun —
Like the moon reflecting the sun’s light.
Like dust gathered from exploded stars —
They all appear from many conditions.
Not only is the physical world like this —
But also our bodily and mental actions.
Each action depends on our thoughts —
And these thoughts — on previous thoughts.
When we see our world connected —
We will inherit compassionate eyes.
And wherever we gaze with our eyes —
We will see a home — warm and bright.
